Covenants Not to Compete

Covenants Not to Compete may be written into an employment agreement or you may be required to sign such an agreement when or after you are employed. A covenant not to compete can restrict your ability to work in the same job or the same industry after your current employment is terminated. Many covenants not to compete are not enforceable or can be defeated if your former employer tries to enforce it against you. Review of a covenant not to compete is advisable if you have been required to sign one.
